Walaykum Salaam,
I know of no books off the top of my head speaking about this subject. But the best way is to ask your shaykh if you have one.
My shaykh once told me if you go to Medina, then try to walk in every street throughout the whole city. For our Beloved Prophet (may peace and prayers be upon him) walked in every place in Medina on every street. He did not do so in Mecca. But in Medina he walked in every place. So wherever you walk in Medina just know you are walking on the footsteps of the Beloved.
And thats why Imam Malik and others never rode a horse in Medina, and many of them never wore shoes while in Medina, out of respect for the beloved footsteps of our Prophet.
Also I was also told something that is good when in Medina and wherever you are is to say.
As Salaam Alaika ya ayuhan Nabi wa Rahmatullah wa Barkatatahu 100times.
